Life is about change.....

So this is the first post of my very first blog. I figured with all the changes about to take place in my life, I should take some time to put my thoughts and experiences in writing. Not only for my family and friends to read, but for me. I will be moving from Minnesota to Maryland in just over a month. Why you ask? Well, let's rewind to Spring Break 2007. The setting is Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.....ok I'll make a long story short. I met a very nice young man from Michigan, we fell in love, and now I'm moving half-way across the country to be closer to him. His name is Brad and he's an environmental engineer. He currently lives in Baltimore, but I refuse to reside in the ghetto of America so I will be living to Annapolis, which is about 30 miles away. I took a nursing job in the Emergency Room of the local hospital. It's a HUGE change from what I'm doing now. I work on an acute respiratory floor at the Mayo Clinic. Basically, I take care of old people on ventilators. I can pretty much predict what each day of work is going to be like. I enjoy my job, but I'm definitely ready for a change of pace. I'm not sure if the ER is the pace I'm looking for, but I'll soon find out. I'll be facing lots of challenges. I have start a completely different job, try to learn my way around a new city, deal with traffic, afford a $1000/month 1 bedroom apartment, make new friends, etc. I hope I'm ready! Nonetheless, I'm ecstatic to be living closer to Brad and not have to wait a month or more between visits. We'll also both save money on plane tickets and cell phone bills! May 21st is moving day. Wish me luck!
